How long is a typical remediation?
Typically, a complete remediation will take less than 3 days with minimal disruption to workflow or your personal life. A full assessment is needed to identify the scope and severity of contamination when determining project length.
How long is a typical building assessment?
Depending on the size of the property anywhere from two to six hours. Light commercial buildings may be evaluated over the course of a couple days.
What can I expect from a remote consultation?
This will vary depending on the nature of the consult. You can expect to get informed. Our approach is to provide education so that you can be empowered to make informed decisions when evaluating the economics of a project or need assistance absorbing and discerning what information is applicable to your unique situation. Sessions can range from 30-90 minutes and even a series of multiple sessions when evaluating photos, video and interpreting data from reports delivered by local professionals in your geographical area.
Does LaPierre Life Sciences travel to different states to provide mold remediation and perform building evaluations?
Yes. We have performed mold related services in 25 states and 3 countries.
(There are a couple of exceptions to this depending on local state licensing requirements.)
What is needed to prepare for remediation service?
Often extraordinarily little if anything is needed to prepare for the service. Preparatory instructions are given to the occupants during the strategy phase of our five-step process when necessary. Our trained professionals work to ensure the process is as noninvasive as possible, and that your possessions and the home are protected during the remediation.
What types of products are used for mold remediation?
We believe there is not a one size fits all approach when it comes to remediation of buildings for mold and other indoor air quality concerns. Our focus is on the method of removal of contaminants from the environment. Each situation is unique unto itself and we educate our clients on the different tools available to achieve our shared desired outcome. We want our clients to understand the service and be an active participant in the process.
What are VOCs?
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are a large group of carbon chemicals that originate from both anthropogenic (man-made) and biogenic (originate from life) origins. These compounds easily evaporate at room temperature and off-gas into our breathing space.
What is a Mycotoxin?
Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by toxic molds and are a known disruptor of cellular metabolism. These chemical compounds are heavier in molecular weight than VOCs and do not off-gas which is a common misconception.
